Why
Does My Church Need a Web Site?
[Top]
A web presence will
assist others in knowing who you are, locating your church or
ministry, contacting clergy, finding spiritual truth, and
providing hope to those in search of a relationship with God.
It also does the following:
-
Provides
immediate accessibility 24/7 in the privacy of people's own
homes or offices from anywhere in the world.
-
Provides
information for your services and activities.
-
Allows free
access thereby eliminating or reducing costs associated with
postage, paper and printing costs, and telephone calls.
-
Keeps current
members abreast of recent or upcoming events.
-
Gathers
information electronically via forms, surveys and polls.
-
Can be used
as an evangelism tool.
-
Increases
exposure to your community adding prestige to your image and
increasing your credibility.
-
Serves as a
link to potential contacts.
-
Increases the
value of your advertising.
-
Can be used
as a means for receiving tithes and/or donations.
Static vs. Dynamic
Website ...What's the Difference?
[Top]
-
A static
website refers to content that the viewer is not able to
interact with, manipulate, or change. This style
method is meant to be informational.
-
A dynamic
website refers to content that is changed by a program or
script at the time the page is requested. Examples
would be pages that have counters, the current date, or a
simple form.
-
A static
website can help your church present your worship schedule,
location, church history, pastor bio, ministries, or any
other information you want your visitors to have access to.
-
A dynamic
website is required for content such as online databases,
e-commerce, collaborative content, membership, or private
areas
-
At
ChristianWebmaker.com we can combine static HTML and dynamic
web content to create a web page suited to your needs.

How Much Will it Cost?
[Top]
Basically, there are three main cost
factors to take into consideration:
-
First, you
will need to register your domain name (www.yourname.com)
with a registrar. They charge an
initial fee upon registration of your domain name then an
annual re-registration fee for you to keep your domain name.
Many web hosting companies will register your domain name
and even offer a reduced rate if you register through them.
Some host will now even give you a free domain name for as
long as you keep your hosting service with them.
-
Secondly,
you'll need web hosting services. There are many web
hosts available and we can assist you with your selection of
a Christian or good secular host.
-
Thirdly, the
cost of your web design will depend largely on the
package you choose. ChristianWebmaker offers the most
popular choices:
-
The one page Flyer @
$175.00
-
The Basic 5 page package @
$350.00
-
The Standard 10 page
package @ $450.00
We will not sell you anything you don't need so when we
quote a price it will specify the base package that will
include everything you need to have a web site.
Additional options will be given based on your selections on
the Quote/Profile Questionnaire and one or two other options
we feel would most benefit your web presence or business.
As mentioned, you are not required to select the options.
You can always add more options to your web presence at a
later date.
We are able
to keep our rates low, but our quality high because we have
virtually no overhead. We'll
never become millionaires, but our reward comes from an
honest job well-done and a satisfied client. We also
look forward to our Heavenly reward.
What are your
payment options?
[Top]
Our preference is payment via
PayPal, but we will accept a check*, cashier's check, or
money order payable to:
ChristianWebmaker.com
260 Smithonia Rd Winterville, GA 30683
*Personal checks
must clear the bank before website is transferred to your
domain. Post-dated checks will be returned. A $35 fee for checks returned for insufficient funds
will be assessed.
What can I expect if I
decide to design, update, and maintain my own website?
[Top]
Ask
yourself the following questions:
-
Why have a
web site?
-
What will be
your mission or goal?
-
What are your
expectations?
-
What will be
the domain name?
-
What type of
website will you have...informational, image, service,
portal, support, e-commerce?
-
Who is your
target audience?
-
Who will do
any research needed?
-
Does the
church or organization have the necessary equipment, editing
software, connections to the Internet?
-
How will the
website be funded?
-
What web
hosting service will you use?
-
Who will
design the website? Prepare the graphics, write the html?
-
Who will
write or edit the copy (text)?
-
Will you use
photos? Digital camera? Scanner?
-
Who and how
will you promote the website?
-
How often
does the content need to change?
-
Who will be
responsible for maintenance and updates?
Sound overwhelming? Not to us.
This is what we do for a living. Of course, the
questions above are meant to get you thinking about what is
involved with such an endeavor, but If you choose us to
develop your web presence we are confident we can assist you
